It’s been a bad week for black men who rule the world of R&B music. First, it was BuzzFeed’s explosive story about R. Kelly being some type of $ex slavemaster of some all-woman cult.
Then by midweek, there was Radar Online’s damning exposé about eight-time Grammy Award winner Usher Raymond (pictured). It turns out the “Let It Burn” hit maker did exactly that: Burn somebody in the worst way.
According to court documents that eventually got into the hands of a secret Radar correspondent, Mr. Raymond paid $1.1 million to settle a disgusting lawsuit.
The lawsuit was filed by a woman named Maya Fox-Davis. She actually served as a bridesmaid for Tameka Foster, Raymond’s ex-wife. Foster’s divorce from Raymond was finalized in 2009. Raymond then began or continued a $exual relationship with Fox-Davis.
According to the legal complaint filed several years ago by Fox-Davis’ attorney, Raymond knowingly infected her with the herpes virus after “being exposed” to the STD in either 2009 or 2010. In 2012, Raymond posted a check for $2,754.40 to cover Fox-Davis’ medical bills.
