Another high-profile black woman in American media has achieved the remarkable feat of conception past the age of 40! She also had a secret marriage to accommodate her special biological accomplishment.

According to Hello Beautiful, well-known journalist and former NBC talk show personality Tamron Hall (pictured) is 32 weeks pregnant with her first child and made a joyous announcement about her life on social media recently. Hall, 48, also included an adorable Twitter video clip to get her exciting message out.

ABC’s future syndicated talk show host used her Instagram account to post the following message, which served as a caption for a gorgeous picture of her in a white dress showcasing the new baby bump:

“I’ve wanted to share this news for many months and now finally my doctor has said I am in a safe place, at 32 weeks, to share my joy with y’all. So, it’s clear a daytime talk show isn’t the only thing I’ve been trying to produce! There have been many tears, but today I embrace the smiles. My husband Steven and I are beyond excited! We’re in constant prayer, so if you pray, add us to your list; if you meditate, send calmness our way; and if you believe in luck, we’ll happily take that too. More to share in a few weeks when the baby arrives! Next chapter! Blessed and Grateful.”

2019 is shaping up to be a very happy year for Hall, a native of Texas. She left NBC in 2017 after being a television journalist for the national media circuit for 10 years. On September 9, 2019, the former TODAY Show mainstay will be making her ABC debut with the Tamron Hall Show, which will premier in national syndication, according to Disney.

“When one door closes…another one opens! @Disney just announced that “Tamron Hall” will premiere in national syndication on 9-9-19! Also proud to share that I will serve as Executive Producer, alongside legendary producer Bill Geddie! #LevelUp #Grateful,” Hall tweeted on Monday (March 4).

Congratulations to Tamron Hall on her latest major career move and exciting new family life!

This HBCU Just Made The List Of Highest Producers Of Physicists In The Country

Thursday, July 27th, 2017

This year, a Louisiana-based HBCU made history over the high amount of black undergraduates who finish school with a degree in physics.

According to the Associated Press, Dillard University (an historically black higher education institution located in New Orleans, Louisiana) is head and shoulders over larger schools when it comes to cranking out physics experts. This story is very amazing considering the small size of the student population at Dillard University, which has an enrollment of 1200.

What happened in New Orleans at Dillard this past academic year is comparable to the biblical story of David and Goliath. With just one small stone and a slingshot, a young David, the future king of the Israelites, slayed Goliath, a feared, physically strong, and well-armed Philistine warlord who reportedly stood over 10 feet tall.

With an endowment of just $58 million, Dillard University was neck and neck with North Carolina A&T State University on the  American Institute of Physics’ top 10 list of colleges and universities across America with the highest amounts of successful physics undergraduates. North Carolina A&T State University is just about 10 times larger than Dillard.

Almost two weeks after more bad news about R. Kelly broke the internet, the 51-year-old 12 Play singer and songwriter has retained an attorney to defend himself against any legal backlash that may come his way in lieu of remaining stationary over the latest lewd allegations made against him.

The Jasmine Brand (a popular celebrity gossip news blog) recently reported that Monique Pressley (pictured left) has been acquired by Kelly’s camp to help the embattled musician deal with accusations, which label him as the slave master of an all-female $ex cult.

Pressley is the principal of the  Pressley Firm PLLC, which is a law firm based in the metro area of the District of Columbia (D.C.). Pressley also works as a television commentator who gives expert legal advice and opinions.

She is no stranger to defending black men accused of $exual abuse. In 2016, Pressley became more well-known when she was hired by iconic comedian Bill Cosby to help him build a defense against a bevy of $exual assault allegations, which came from dozens of women.

Briefly after being retained by Cosby, Pressley spoke publicly with journalist Marc Lamont Hill via HuffPost Live about the credibility of the women who were accusing Cosby of these terrible lapses in judgement.

Kenya Moore’s Grandmother Who Raised Her After Mother Rejected Her Passes Away

Thursday, July 27th, 2017

Kenya Moore is enduring a time of bereavement after losing a vanguard of stability in her life who has been there for her since the reality television star was a very small child.

Moore, 46, a co-star on the Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA) lost Doris Grant, her paternal grandmother, to Alzheimer’s Disease. This past Monday (July 24th), Moore announced the death of the woman she affectionately called “momma” on Instagram.

“My grandmother who raised me from 3 days old passed away,” Moore posted in her heartfelt message on Instagram. “She has helped mold me into the woman I am. She truly was my best friend,” she continued.

Moore’s biological mother Patricia abandoned her when she was three days old.

At one time during an episode of RHOA, Moore’s father Ronald appeared on the set to tell her that Patricia abandoned Moore in order to prevent salvaging the relationship she had with her own father.

In 1993, Moore was awarded one of the highest national beauty pageant honors that a woman can receive in the United States. She won Miss USA at the 42nd annual competition, which was televised live.

Racial Segregation Is Increasing Among School Districts Because of Economics

Monday, July 24th, 2017

A newly formed and different pattern of America’s signature brand of societal inequality has been on the rise since the beginning of the so-called Great Recession, which started in December of 2007.

In recent history, an online newsletter published regularly by the Brookings Institute called the Brown Center Chalkboard offered a report titled Growing Economic Segregation Among School Districts and Schools. This report discussed the findings of a study conducted by three researchers from three prominent American universities.

A four-volume working paper based on this study titled Trends In Economic School Segregation: 1970 to 2010was written by Ann OwensSean F. Reardon, and Christopher Jencks. Owens is an Assistant Professor of Sociology and Spatial Sciences at the University of Southern California.

Reardon is a Senior Fellow at the Institute for Economic Policy Research at Stanford University. Jencks is the Malcolm Wiener Professor of Social Policy in the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. These three social scientists found that the racial segregation happening in school districts today comes down to one thing: Money.

Talk Radio Station Under Fire For Comparing Black Kids To Dogs In Twitter Photo

Monday, July 24th, 2017

A commercial FM talk radio station caused a big rash of backlash after a racist tweet was shared on the station’s social media network. The radio station is based a nation, which was formerly the breeding ground for apartheid.

According to The Citizen, a national South African-based newspaper, social media managers at Radio 702 messed up in a major way on Sunday (July 23rd) by posting a hateful photo on Twitter. The photo clearly appeared to compare black children to dogs.

The antics of bigotry by Radio 702 were very ironic and awkward considering the fact that on Sunday, the radio station was partnering with MTN (a telecommunications company) for a campaign called “Walk the Talk.” This campaign organized people to walk long distances on behalf of women and children who were domestic violence victims.

South Africans actually came out in great numbers to support the cause. Many citizens walked their dogs along with them during the “Walk the Talk” campaign. However, Radio 702 used pictures of dogs and African children to send a crude, subliminal message in a now-deleted tweet.

Jada Pinkett-Smith Speaks On Her Alleged “swinger” Lifestyle

Jada Pinkett-Smith (pictured right) has been featured heavily in the pop culture headlines recently for a handful of reasons.

First, there were the negative “All Eyes On Me” reactions from the actress based on how her relationship with slain rapper/actor Tupac Shakur was portrayed in the film.

The biopic (released June 16th) is based on Shakur’s short but iconic life chronicled the years he met Pinkett-Smith, 45, from their days in performing arts school up until the rap legend’s death.

This film was directed by famed hip-hop music videographer Benny Boom and was executive produced by L.T. Hutton, a music producer who worked with Shakur during his days at Deathrow Records.

Pinkett-Smith slammed Hutton and other “All Eyes On Me” filmmakers for producing a “deeply hurtful” movie. “Pac never read me that poem,” Pinkett-Smith wrote to followers on her Facebook and Twitter pages.

“I didn’t know that poem existed until it was printed in his book. Pac never said goodbye to me before leaving for LA. He had to leave abruptly and it wasn’t to pursue his career. I’ve never been to any of Pac’s shows by his request. We never had an argument backstage,” she continued.

During the middle of last month, word started circulating about “Real Housewives of Atlanta” co-star Kenya Moore (pictured right) marrying some mystery man on an island.

The details got out after a celebrity gossip blog called Tamara Tattles leaked a few photos of the uber secret marriage ceremony between Moore, 46, and her anonymous new man. Since there was no news about the private wedding on the reality TV show, a lot of speculation went into whether or not Moore’s marriage was real.

In this new and crazy internet age of fake news, anything is possible. A story without absolutely any validity or authenticity at all can go viral online in a matter of hours. So it kind of makes you scratch your head when some celebrity story breaks on the internet instead of on – let’s say “Entertainment Tonight.”

But Moore’s marriage to her new boo was real and became confirmed after sources like E! News picked up the story and claimed everything was official. However, here recently, Kandi Burrus (pictured left), another “Real Housewives of Atlanta” co-star spoke with E! News and said that even she was skeptical when Moore’s marriage news first broke.

Osama Bin Laden’s Alleged Ex-Lover Tells Why “Billionaires Prefer Black Women”

Sunday, July 23rd, 2017

A woman that claims to have once been a mistress of a deceased man who was considered by America and the West to be the most dangerous terrorist in the world gave her honest opinion about billionaires and why she thinks many of them are attracted to black women.

Kola Boof (pictured right) is a black woman of Egyptian and Sudanese descent who immigrated to America in 1978 through being adopted by Black American parents. Boof’s books titled “Nile River Woman” and “The $exy Part of the Bible” are just two among several of her most popular best sellers.

Boof was forced to live in Sudan in 1996 during the time Osama Bin Laden (pictured left) was a dissident there. The construction heir turned jihadist was expelled from his native country of Saudi Arabia. Bin Laden, the son of a billionaire builder with close ties to the Saudi Royal Family was ordered by them to leave after being accused of terrorism.

Boof wrote and interesting and provocative article for called “Billionaires Prefer Black Women.” In her opinionated editorial on this issue Boof gives an abundance of examples of non-black billionaire men who both date and marry black women exclusively.

Study: Black Kids Benefit Greatly From Oral Storytelling

Sunday, July 23rd, 2017

A current research study has shown that when black children are read stories orally, it greatly enhances their individual reading performance and appreciation for good literature.

However, there is a difference in the effectiveness of oral storytelling for black girls and black boys. The difference lies in the age when it becomes most effective to read aloud to black boys and girls.

The report based on this study was recently published in an academic journal called Child Development. This study is entitled Different Tales: The Role of Gender in the Oral Narrative-Reading Link Among African American Children.

Researchers from the Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill conducted the study while observing 72 black children (38 girls and 34 boys).

All of the children who were observed during the study were enrolled in preschool through the sixth grade. Dr. Nicole Gardner-Neblett and Dr. John Sideris were the authors of the final study report.

Findings indicate that although girls demonstrated stronger narrative skills, their narrative skills did not moderate change in reading,” the authors wrote.
